Meow everyone! I wanted to share the news from the most recent officer meeting held on June 9, 2015.
Pusa was able to join us yesterday for the meeting. Other members in attendance included officers Fatamus, Midgett, Vladdorivv, and myself. Other active officers such as Fendy and Dottie had been consulted prior to the meeting, and they were able to provide feedback on the various topics covered.
First, there have been a couple of administration changes for Kittens. During Pusa's absence, she has named me interim guild leader. I will continue to run things until she is able to return. Please know that we will all continue to aspire to the same awesome vision that Pusa has always set for us, and none of that will be changing.
In addition, Opal was nominated to become an officer and was unanimously approved. Please congratulate her on her new position as officer and official Event Manager for Kittens! We all have every confidence in her ability to come up with awesome regularly scheduled events to keep us engaged. No pressure, Opal!
It was discussed that the guild will aim to hold two raid events per month, and that other events could be held in addition. It was agreed the main aim of any event is to foster bonding, cooperation, and teamwork among guildmates. Examples of other types of events might include kitten XP parties in particular dungeons/regions. This would make sense if we wanted to raid but find we are lacking the numbers/levels to do so- at least we would still be doing something together as a guild. If anyone has ideas for a particular event, they are encouraged to bring those ideas to Opal, or any other officer.
The next item that came up includes general discussion about the guild's direction. Leadership agrees that we will continue our goal to become a casual raiding guild. Specific tasks were assigned in order to continue striding towards this goal. Vladdorivv will seek out alliances with other guilds to participate in raiding. In the end, we all agreed that Kittens has a good vision, but we must take action to realize our goals. In addition the wiki page will be updated to reflect Kitten's place on P99.
Another important topic covered included recruitment. WE NEED MORE QUALITY KITTENS. Please know that the guild is in full recruitment mode. Officers are going to make concerted efforts to bring more kittens into the fold. More importantly, we hope that regularly scheduled events and more regular guild updates will help us to retain members. For purposes of recruiting, there is no longer a level requirement, or "sponsor" requirement. What is most important is interviewing individuals before inviting, and finding out if they work well with others. Kitten qualities include friendliness, loyalty, and quality. However, we also do not want to appear as elitist or selective as that is definitely not what we're about. Liking kittens is a plus too of course, but we'll continue to have an open mind about the issue. If you have found a potential kitten, please notify an officer and other guildmates. We will try to get someone out there to tag them. Please remember that we will not tolerate drama, and if a new invite is causing issues, it will be dealt with swiftly- we do no not want to tarnish the name of Kittens. Please let an officer know ASAP if any guildmate is acting like a db.
Finally, we all want to encourage everyone to continue using the website and post on a regular basis. The more involvement we get in forums, the more we will see things happen online as we coordinate and work together.
